United Airlines has announced that starting in 2025, passengers will have free access to Starlink satellite internet, developed by SpaceX, provided they are part of the MileagePlus frequent flyer program. This service will first be available on an Embraer SA E175 aircraft, with plans to equip the entire regional fleet by the end of 2025.

The introduction of Starlink will allow travelers to stream content, shop online, and work in real-time, with the capability to connect multiple devices simultaneously. While MileagePlus members can enjoy this service at no cost, pricing for non-members will be disclosed closer to the launch.

Starlink operates through low Earth orbit satellites, ensuring high-speed, low-latency internet directly in-flight, without reliance on ground stations. This innovation signifies a notable enhancement in in-flight connectivity, enabling activities previously restricted by traditional WiFi systems, such as video calls and seamless streaming.

United Airlines joins other carriers like Hawaiian Airlines and international airlines such as Qatar Airways in adopting this cutting-edge technology, marking a significant shift in how passengers experience air travel.
