BMW M4 CS: Enhanced Track Performance

BMW India is set to launch the M4 CS, a performance-focused variant, on October 4, 2024. This model builds on the M4 Competition with significant enhancements aimed at track readiness.

The M4 CS is 20 kg lighter than the M4 Competition, thanks to extensive use of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic in components like the bonnet and diffuser. It features a reworked 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six engine, now producing 543 bhp, which is 20 bhp more than its predecessor. Torque remains at 650 Nm, and the 0-100 km/h time improves by 0.1 seconds to 3.4 seconds.

Visual upgrades include yellow LED daytime running lights, a red grille surround, and a more aggressive aerodynamic package with a front splitter and rear diffuser. The M4 CS rides on 19-inch front and 20-inch rear forged alloy wheels.

Mechanically, the vehicle boasts a stiffer suspension and anti-roll bars for enhanced body control. It also features a four-wheel-drive system with an optional 2WD mode for rear-wheel power delivery, allowing for a complete disengagement of the stability control system for drifting enthusiasts.

The M4 CS is expected to carry a premium price over the M4 Competition, currently priced at Rs 1.53 crore (ex-showroom).
