Prix Ars Electronica 2025 Announces Winners

The Prix Ars Electronica, a leading international competition for media art, announced its winners for 2025. The awards recognize outstanding projects at the intersection of art, technology, and society. The event took place in Linz, Austria, highlighting the city's role as a UNESCO City of Media Arts.

The Golden Nica awards, along with prize money up to 10,000 euros, were presented in four categories. Winners included Frode Oldereid and Thomas Kvam for *Requiem for an Exit* (New Animation Art), Navid Navab and Garnet Willis for *Organism* (Digital Musics & Sound Art), and Paula Gaetano Adi for *Guanaquerx* (Artificial Life & Intelligence).

Aleksa Jović and Nico Pflügler received a Golden Nica in the u19 - create your world category. Additional awards included the Ars Electronica Award for Digital Humanity, given to Domestic Data Streamers for *Synthetic Memories*, and the Isao Tomita Special Prize, awarded to evala for *ebb tide*. The winning projects will be showcased at the Ars Electronica Festival from September 3rd to 7th.
