At the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) in Madrid, Catalina García, Minister of Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection for Andalusia, unveiled a new initiative called "Naturalmente Sevilla." The program invites visitors to explore the region's unique natural treasures, such as the Sierra Morena Natural Park, the Guadiamar Green Corridor, and the Fossilized Jellyfish Footprint Monument in Constantine.


Key Highlights of the Program

Sierra Morena: A UNESCO Geopark and Biosphere ReserveThe park features iconic attractions such as the Huéznar Waterfalls and the Cerro del Hierro Natural Monument, renowned for their rich biodiversity.A promotional campaign launched in November 2024 included a video that garnered over 80,000 views within two weeks, drawing attention to this natural treasure.

  2. Guadiamar Green CorridorThis protected landscape spans over 2,700 hectares and includes 60 kilometers of ecological trails, offering habitats for diverse flora and fauna.The Guadiamar Visitor Center in Aznalcázar serves as a gateway for exploring this unique area.

  3. Fossilized Jellyfish Footprint MonumentLocated in Constantine, this monument features 289 fossilized jellyfish imprints, recognized as the most significant discovery of its kind in the world.Recent restoration work, costing nearly €300,000, has highlighted the importance of this paleontological site, solidifying Andalusia's position on the global scientific map.


Focus on Sustainability and Environmental Preservation

During her presentation, Catalina García emphasized the importance of connecting with nature, engaging in outdoor activities, and exploring local culture:
"We must work to respect and protect our environment; otherwise, there will be no future."

The region is actively investing in enhancing tourist infrastructure, including upgrades to the Botanical Trail and the Buitrago Recreation Area, to provide a better experience for visitors.
