Unique Carnivorous Plant Exhibit Blooms at Moscow's Botanical Garden

Moscow, November 21. Visitors to the Moscow State University Botanical Garden, known as "Aptekarsky Ogorod," can now witness the blooming of carnivorous plants in the tropical Palm Greenhouse.

The exhibition, titled "Carnivorous Plant Garden," features a unique tropical swamp environment where various insect-eating species thrive, having evolved over millions of years to capture and digest insects, amphibians, and even small rodents. Notable species on display include the Venus flytrap, sundews, and the rare South American Heliamphora and Australian Cephalotus.

The garden is home to a diverse insect population, which the carnivorous plants naturally prey upon, with no additional feeding required. This captivating spectacle has been part of the garden since its establishment in December 2014.
