Greece and Japan are strengthening their bonds through tourism and cultural exchange, marking 125 years of diplomatic relations. Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni highlighted the strategic relationship between the two nations at a reception at the Japanese Embassy in Athens. The event celebrated Japan's national holiday and Emperor Naruhito's birthday. Kefalogianni emphasized the success of the "Year of Culture and Tourism of Greece - Japan," which included Princess Kako's visit to Greece and the presentation of Nikos Kazantzakis's book "Traveling: Japan" in Japanese. A photo exhibition, "Greece: In the Land of Dreams," by Robert McCabe, was also showcased. Both countries are actively working to increase tourist flow, promote investments, improve air connections, and strengthen sustainable tourism development. Kefalogianni stated, "Tourism is a bridge that unites our peoples, promotes cultural exchange, and enhances the prosperity of our societies."
