Helmholtz Association Launches HPC Gateway to Boost AI Innovation

The Helmholtz Association has launched HPC Gateway, a new initiative aimed at providing businesses with access to its high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure and AI expertise. The initiative seeks to foster collaboration between research institutions and companies, promoting the development of regional innovation ecosystems.

Nine Helmholtz Centers at eight locations across Germany are participating in the one-year pilot phase, opening their HPC infrastructure to businesses. The initiative will support projects in AI, digital twins, and HPC-based innovations.

Helmholtz is investing 18 million euros in HPC Gateway, supporting locations including Helmholtz Munich, Forschungszentrum Jülich, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and others.
