On October 13, 2024, Russia executed missile strikes targeting the Poltava and Odesa regions of Ukraine using two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and two Kh-59 guided aviation missiles aimed at Chernihiv and Sumy regions. Additionally, 68 strike drones were deployed in the assault.
Ukrainian Air Force Command reported that in the course of air defense operations, 31 enemy drones were shot down across Kyiv, Poltava, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions. They also noted that 36 Russian drones were reportedly lost in various locations in Ukraine, likely due to active electronic warfare countermeasures. However, there was no information regarding the interception of missiles.
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of 13 Ukrainian drones over the territories of Kursk, Belgorod, and Bryansk regions of Russia on the same morning.
