Malaysia Invests Heavily in EV Production: Proton's New Plant, EPMB's Facility, and Samsung's Battery Manufacturing

February 12, 2024, Samsung Electronics invested RM7 billion ($1.3 billion) in Seremban for EV battery production, with partial production of 21700 cylindrical batteries slated for this year. EVE Energy plans a factory in Kulim District, Kedah, by 2027 for cylindrical NMC battery cells.
