Microsoft Launches GenAI Accelerator for UK Startups

Microsoft has launched its GenAI Accelerator in partnership with Nvidia, aimed at supporting UK startups in scaling their generative AI products. The program will run from January 22 to March 5, 2025, targeting startups that have received seed funding and are ready to advance their offerings.

The initiative seeks companies focused on solutions that enhance lives, create jobs, and drive economic impact. Its hybrid format combines online and in-person elements to ensure accessibility for startups across the UK, not just those in London and the South East.

At the conclusion of the program, Microsoft will host a 'Demo Day' for participants to present their products to venture capitalists and private equity firms, aiming to secure additional funding.

Darren Hardman, Microsoft UK CEO, stated, 'By supporting local AI start-ups and providing them with the resources they need to succeed, Microsoft and our partners are helping to build a vibrant and sustainable AI community in the UK.'

Selected startups will have access to one-on-one sessions with Microsoft's AI specialists and guidance from Nvidia and Github experts. Nvidia's VP, Serge Palaric, noted that their accelerated computing platform will help startups enhance their AI development.

Applications are open until November 22, with shortlisting starting on December 9. Microsoft encourages companies aiming to create AI-native solutions on its cloud to apply.
