The highly anticipated second season of Squid Game is smashing viewership records at a breakneck speed. After an explosive start, amassing 68 million views in just four days, Netflix's biggest TV debut ever, Season 2 surged to an additional 58.2 million views in its first full week. This brings the total to a staggering 126.2 million views within 11 days, a feat unmatched by any Netflix series in such a short time.

Last week, Squid Game Season 2 stormed Netflix's chart of most popular non-English-language shows, debuting at No. 7. This week, it rocketed to No. 2, surpassed only by the first season of the same series, which garnered 265.2 million views in its first 91 days. However, Season 2 seems poised to break that record with 80 more days to go.

Unsurprisingly, Squid Game Season 2 became the most-watched series in any language on Netflix during the week of Dec. 30 to Jan. 5. While the first season also enjoyed a resurgence, pulling in 13.6 million views and ranking second in the English-language category.

On the film front, Taron Egerton's Carry-On dominated for the fourth consecutive week, raking in 17.4 million views. The film has now climbed to No. 5 on Netflix's list of most popular English-language films, accumulating 149.4 million views in just four weeks.

As the streaming landscape evolves, the success of Squid Game Season 2 highlights the ongoing global appeal of innovative storytelling.
