G2 Magnetic Storm Expected on January 24 Due to Solar Plasma Ejection

On January 24, a G2 level magnetic storm is anticipated on Earth, triggered by a solar plasma cloud ejected during a solar flare on January 21. This forecast comes from the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute of Space Research and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The storm is expected to begin in the afternoon, with scientists noting that while the plasma cloud is not particularly strong, its low propagation speed could still generate effects.

Magnetic storms, caused by solar flares, can impact human health, especially for those sensitive to geomagnetic changes, as well as disrupt satellite operations and communication systems. Although these storms are not considered a serious health threat, experts advise individuals, particularly those sensitive to these changes, to monitor their health and follow medical advice. It is recommended to keep necessary medications and water on hand, manage stress, and maintain awareness of blood pressure levels.
