Romania is bracing for a period of cold and snowfall between February 15th and 18th. The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has issued multiple weather warnings, forecasting significant temperature drops and frost, particularly in the northern, central, and northeastern regions, as well as mountainous areas. Minimum temperatures are expected to range from -16 to -10 degrees Celsius. Mixed precipitation, including sleet and snow, is anticipated, along with ice formation in some areas.
Snowfall is expected in southern and eastern Transylvania, with rain and sleet transitioning to snow in Muntenia, Oltenia, and Dobrogea. A yellow code has been issued for Moldova, northeastern and eastern Muntenia, and northern Dobrogea due to strong winds. Constanta, Ialomita, and Calarasi counties are under a yellow code for snowfall and snow accumulation, with potential accumulations of 10-15 cm.
