The northern region of Panchagarh, Bangladesh, is experiencing an intense cold spell, with the lowest temperatures being recorded in the country. Over the past week, the area has faced a significant drop in temperature, compounded by cold winds and dense fog.
On Tuesday morning at 9 AM, the weather station in Tentulia reported a minimum temperature of 11 degrees Celsius. Earlier, at 6 AM, the temperature was recorded at 11.3 degrees Celsius. Wind speeds have ranged from 6 to 8 kilometers per hour, with humidity levels at 97 percent.
Despite the chilly conditions, the sun emerged brightly in the morning, although the cold was still palpable until 9 AM. The sunny weather has not hindered daily activities, with workers from various sectors, including tea and stone laborers, continuing their tasks. Farmers have been busy harvesting dew-laden fresh vegetables early in the morning.
According to Jitendra Nath Roy, a senior meteorological observer at the Tentulia weather office, the recorded minimum temperature at 9 AM was 11.0 degrees Celsius.
