A significant cold front is set to arrive in Hungary on Wednesday, bringing with it the first substantial rainfall of the season. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop across various regions, with morning fog and mist likely in some areas.
The southern and southeastern winds will be brisk, with strong gusts anticipated in the evening. Overnight temperatures will range between -3 and +3 degrees Celsius, while daytime highs could reach as much as 12 degrees Celsius, although some locations may only see temperatures around 5 degrees.
The cold front will be accompanied by heavy rainfall in many areas, particularly in higher elevations, where rain may turn to sleet or light snow. While morning temperatures could still be around 12 degrees, a noticeable drop is expected by the afternoon.
A new cyclone is projected to arrive by Friday from the Mediterranean region, although its exact path remains uncertain. This system could bring the first snowfall to much of the country, including lowland areas.
