In a historic performance, Coldplay took the stage at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India, attracting over 111,000 spectators. This remarkable turnout establishes a new record for the 21st century, surpassing the previous high set by country music star George Strait, who performed for 110,905 fans in Texas.
Taylor Swift closely followed this record with her Eras Tour date in Melbourne, where she performed in front of 96,000 attendees on February 16, 2024.
The concert in India is part of Coldplay's extensive Music of the Spheres World Tour, which commenced in March 2022 and has seen sold-out shows across all five continents. As of December 2024, the tour had sold 10.3 million tickets, marking an unprecedented achievement for a single tour.
Nearly half of the concerts took place in Europe, where 5.2 million tickets were sold across 87 dates. The tour is set to resume in April with performances scheduled in Hong Kong, China, and Seoul, before returning to the United States and Canada.
Coldplay will conclude their tour with 10 sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium between August and September 2025.
