In South Korea, the Financial Services Commission (FSC) has lifted its seven-year ban on institutional crypto investments, effective today. Originally imposed in December 2017 due to market volatility, the ban's removal will allow listed companies to trade virtual assets on a pilot basis in the second half of the year. The FSC will also permit cryptocurrency trading for non-profit organizations and is considering amending the Financial Information Act to strengthen investor protection. This move aims to align with global virtual asset market regulations.
