BCDA Partners with LDIC to Boost Internet Connectivity in Key Developments

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has partnered with LBS Digital Infrastructure Corp. (LDIC) to enhance internet connectivity across several major developments in the Philippines, including New Clark City and Bonifacio Global City. This initiative aims to improve digital infrastructure, facilitating the digitalization of businesses and communities.

BCDA President Joshua Bingcang emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating it represents a pivotal step towards advancing internet services in these areas. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between BCDA and LDIC will expedite discussions with mobile network operators for the deployment of common telecom towers, enhancing connectivity without incurring costs for BCDA.

LDIC, a subsidiary of Sojitz Corp. and New Founderco Holdings, will conduct feasibility studies to evaluate the project's financial viability. These studies are expected to be completed within a year following BCDA's approval. Additionally, PhilTower Consortium Inc. has shown interest in collaborating with BCDA to further improve digital connectivity.

BCDA is also working to commercialize passive ICT infrastructure in New Clark City, laying the groundwork for robust fiber infrastructure and competitive internet services in the region.
