Ericsson and Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) have officially partnered to deploy 5G technology, marking a significant milestone in strengthening digital infrastructure in Vietnam.
Under the collaboration agreement, Ericsson will implement advanced, lightweight, and energy-efficient radio equipment to ensure superior mobile service quality and optimize VNPT's network performance.
The initial rollout of 5G services will occur in major cities with high VNPT mobile subscription density, including tourist areas and industrial zones. This deployment is a crucial part of VNPT's strategy to provide high-quality data services, facilitating faster and more reliable connectivity to meet the growing customer demand. The 5G technology will enable the development of numerous new applications and services, from high-speed bandwidth to Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities, digitizing business operations across various industries and driving Vietnam's socio-economic growth.
According to VNPT's CEO, Huỳnh Quang Liêm, the partnership with Ericsson will expedite the rollout of a high-quality 5G mobile network, addressing the increasing customer demands in Vietnam. He emphasized that 5G will be a key driver for economic development, accelerating Vietnam's transition to a digital economy.
Rita Mokbel, President and CEO of Ericsson Vietnam, stated that 5G is essential for digital transformation and economic growth.
