Acer has introduced a new line of educational devices aimed at schools, including three Chromebook models and a tablet.
The new Chromebooks—Chromebook 511, Chromebook Spin 511, and Chromebook Spin 512—feature a compact and durable clamshell design. They come with an 11.6-inch IPS display, Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, and an optional 4G LTE module. They also carry TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe certification for blue light protection.
The Acer Chromebook Tab 311 tablet boasts a 10.95-inch IPS touchscreen with WUXGA resolution (1920×1200) and a 60 Hz refresh rate. Powered by a MediaTek Kompanio 520 processor, it has an 8000 mAh battery for prolonged use. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and optional 4G LTE, all within a 9.05 mm thick, 610-gram body. It meets military durability standard MIL-STD 810H and features dual speakers along with 2 MP front and 5 MP rear cameras.
The new Chromebooks are set to launch in Europe in March 2025, while the Chromebook Tab 311 is expected in Q2 2025. Pricing details have been provided.
Acer also unveiled new TravelMate laptops, including TravelMate B5 14, TravelMate B3 11, and TravelMate B3 Spin 12, all equipped with Intel Core 3 processors and Wi-Fi 7. The TravelMate B5 14 features a 14-inch Full HD display, while the TravelMate B3 11 has an 11.6-inch screen. The convertible TravelMate B3 Spin 12 offers a 12-inch WUXGA display that rotates 360 degrees. All models comply with TÜV Rheinland's blue light protection standards.
The TravelMate laptops are expected to hit the European market in February 2025, with suggested pricing available.
