Chinese automaker BYD, the world's largest electric vehicle manufacturer, is launching the Sealion 7, a high-performance SUV with over 500 kilometers of range, marking its entry into a new market segment.
BYD's Iberia Director, Alberto de Aza, hinted at potential expansion in Europe, specifically in Spain, contingent on competitive factors.
Currently, BYD has sold over 4,000 units in Spain, a significant increase from the previous year, fueled by a growing lineup of plug-in vehicles.
The company aims to lead new energy vehicle sales in Spain and emphasizes that its pricing strategy will remain unaffected by EU tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles.
BYD is also set to introduce its luxury brand Denza in Europe next year and will start distributing light commercial vehicles, indicating a robust expansion plan.
