Valencia Prepares for MotoGP's 25th Anniversary with Record Attendance and New Features

The upcoming MotoGP Grand Prix in Valencia is set to mark its 25th anniversary with an expected attendance of nearly 90,000 spectators. The event will feature significant innovations, including giant helmets scattered throughout the city for fans to take photos, and a documentary showcasing the history of Valencia's motorcycle racing.

Director Nicolás Collado announced that for the first time, fans will have the opportunity to participate in a controlled track invasion during the podium celebrations. This will coincide with the introduction of a special gala for the award ceremony, scheduled for Sunday at 18:30, which will accommodate around 3,000 attendees.

Prominent riders such as Jorge Martín and 'Pecco' Bagnaia are expected to be the main attractions of the race, with Martín leading the championship standings. Local riders like Sergio García Dols and Iván Ortolá are also in contention for titles in Moto2 and Moto3, respectively.

In a recent statement, the president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, emphasized the importance of maintaining Valencia as a key location for motorcycle racing beyond the current contract with Dorna Sports, which expires in 2026. He is optimistic about the ongoing negotiations to secure future events in the region.

As the season progresses, Valencia's riders have collectively achieved 27 podium finishes, with hopes of breaking the historical record for the most podiums by Valencian riders in the MotoGP's 75-year history.
