The film, which debuted in 2014, was a massive success, leading to three direct sequels and a total box office exceeding $1 billion across the franchise.
In addition to the films, a spinoff series titled The Continental was launched on Peacock, featuring Mel Gibson. While the series received mixed reviews, it still garnered a 63% critic score and a 78% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The production costs for John Wick films have steadily increased, but so have their box office returns. The first film was made for $30 million and grossed $87 million worldwide.
