On December 3, 2024, the upper regions of the Kashmir Valley experienced significant snowfall, leading to a drop in temperatures across the area. Key locations such as Gurez, Gulmarg, Sonamarg, Karnah, and the Zojila Pass reported fresh snow accumulation.
Officials indicated that several roads, including the Bandipora-Gurez and Srinagar-Ladakh routes, were blocked due to the heavy snowfall. In response, snow clearance operations commenced early in the morning to restore access.
The meteorological department has forecasted dry weather from December 4 to December 7. However, on December 8, cloudy conditions with light rain and snow are expected in higher elevations at isolated locations. Following this, dry weather is anticipated again from December 9 to December 12.
