The Scottish SPCA is launching a new adoption and fostering service aimed at helping nine pets in Tayside and Fife find their forever homes. Potential owners can now specify their requirements on the charity's website, which then matches them with suitable animals.
Currently available for adoption at the SSPCA Tayside and Fife centre are:
Dante: A five-year-old albino ferret who enjoys naps and food. He requires regular handling.
Diesel: An eight-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier who loves toys, walks, and attention. He may do best as the only pet.
Goji and Nutmeg: Two guinea pigs who are shy and need an experienced owner to help them bond.
Kilo: A two-year-old black-haired crossbreed who may live with teenagers and other dogs.
Lina: A timid young black and white Syrian hamster that requires a quiet home.
Noodle: A calm ferret who enjoys his enclosure and may adapt to a home with children.
Snowy: A shy white domestic short-hair cat, who has lived with other cats and may need outdoor access.
Tracker: A two-year-old border collie full of energy, best suited for an adult-only home.
Jennie Macdonald, head of fostering, emphasized the importance of matching pets with families based on lifestyle and preferences. This new approach aims to enhance animal welfare and ensure long-term commitments from pet owners.
