Beijing, January 10, 2025 - Tesla has launched orders for its refreshed Model Y, with deliveries set to begin in March. The crossover remains crucial for the company, accounting for approximately 1.2 million units sold last year, representing two-thirds of Tesla's total sales.

The new version, codenamed 'Juniper,' features updated exterior styling, including headlights inspired by the Cybercab robotaxi concept, alongside significant interior enhancements.

The long-range variant, priced at 303,500 yuan ($41,400), offers a range of 719 kilometers (447 miles) on a single charge under China's testing conditions, marking a 4.5% improvement over its predecessor.

While details regarding the U.S. launch and pricing remain undisclosed, analysts express concerns over Tesla's reliance on the Model Y for revenue. A decline in demand could significantly impact the company's financials, especially with the timeline for its new low-cost model still uncertain.

Investors are hopeful that Juniper will stimulate demand and maintain production levels, as many potential buyers may have postponed their purchases in anticipation of the updated model.
