Celebrate World Animal Day with Cozy Gifts for Your Pets

On Saturday, November 30, we celebrate World Animal Day. For dog owners, it's a great opportunity to give their furry friends a charming gift—a new winter outfit. But how do you choose the right one?

Many believe that various cozy outfits and sparkling boots for small dogs are just cute but useless accessories. In reality, these items can be lifesavers for your pets, especially during the chilly weather typical of late November.

Veterinarian Mikhail Shelyakov explains, “We often receive questions about stray animals: at what temperature can a cat freeze without access to a warm place? The answer surprises many. The most dangerous temperature for them is between 0 and -5 degrees Celsius, like the current weather.”

This chilly weather often comes with high humidity, snow, and wind. Wet fur loses its heat-retaining properties, making pets vulnerable to the cold.

A dog hat can cost around 400 rubles. There are various styles available, from balaclavas to festive hats with reindeer antlers. Such items can protect your pet's ears, even if they love playing in the snow.

Unusual Christmas items are also popping up on marketplaces. For example, a gift set featuring a red scarf and a hat for your pet. While your cat or dog might not appreciate it, their festive look will surely brighten your mood. This set costs about 440 rubles.

A warm dog jumpsuit starts at 2000 rubles. It’s crucial that it fits well—no pinching or rubbing. Decorative elements like flowers are purely for looks and can be avoided. If they are present, ensure they don’t add too many seams, as cold can seep through them.

Dog boots can be found from 300 rubles. In urban areas, where roads are treated with chemicals, using boots is advisable. However, they must fit correctly. The boots should be snug and non-slip. Poorly fitted footwear can lead to accidents, such as slipping and failing to escape from an oncoming vehicle. Keeping your pet mobile is essential.
