On November 21, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in Andhra Pradesh, involving Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) and several private firms, including RFLY Innovations Pvt Ltd and Earthnow Pvt Ltd. The signing took place in the presence of SVU vice-chancellor Prof. Ch. Appa Rao and registrar Prof. M. Bhupathi Naidu.
Prof. Rao emphasized the collaboration's potential to transform research and skill development in the region, stating that it represents a significant step towards enhancing innovation and training opportunities for students and researchers.
The initiative aligns with Andhra Pradesh's drone policy, aiming to establish the state as a global hub for drone manufacturing and research. The MoU outlines plans for various initiatives, including the establishment of DGCA-approved remote pilot training programs, incubation programs for start-ups, and collaborations focused on next-generation drone and space technologies.
