A set of rare gold and silver coins celebrating Sir Paul McCartney is up for auction, offering collectors a unique piece of music history. The Royal Mint has partnered with Stack's Bowers Galleries to present one gold and four silver coins, each a 5kg masterpiece from the Music Legends series.
The highlight is the gold coin, the largest ever produced in the series, personally signed by McCartney during his recent 'Got Back' tour. The silver coins are also the largest of their kind. Both sets showcase highlights from McCartney's illustrious career.
Rebecca Morgan of the Royal Mint emphasizes the coins as a testament to their craftspeople's skill. Bidding, starting at $1, is open online until March 19. A portion of the auction's proceeds will be donated to charity. Each coin comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Sir Paul himself.
