Moldova-EU Summit in Chisinau to Discuss EU Accession

On July 4, 2025, Chisinau, Moldova, will host the first Moldova-European Union summit at the State Residence, starting at 5:00 PM, presided over by President Maia Sandu. The summit signifies a pivotal moment in Moldova's path toward EU membership.

The European Union will be represented by the President of the European Council, António Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. Discussions will center on the accession process, including progress to date and future steps. Leaders will also address expanding economic ties and cooperation in areas like infrastructure, energy, and digital transformation.

A key agenda item is the Growth Plan for Moldova, worth 1.9 billion euros, recently adopted by the European Commission. This plan supports modernizing the economy and improving citizens' living standards. The summit underscores the EU's commitment to Moldova's European future, strengthening existing partnerships and opening new opportunities.
