Edited by: S Света

Lafarge Africa Plc has launched ECOPlanet Elephant Cement, Nigeria's first low-carbon multipurpose cement, in 2025. The product aims to reduce CO₂ emissions by 30% compared to conventional cement, marking a significant step towards sustainable construction.

The launch event took place at the Carlton Swiss Hotel in Enugu, attended by industry stakeholders and government officials. The new cement, produced at the Mfamosing plant, is suitable for various applications.

This initiative follows the 2024 introduction of ECOPlanet Unicem. Lafarge Africa is also expanding into waste management services, reflecting its commitment to environmental sustainability.
