Following the Pahalgam terror attack, Uttar Pradesh has become the first Indian state to repatriate nearly all Pakistani nationals. The swift expulsion was ordered by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Only one deportation remains pending.
The government announced that all but one Pakistani national have been expelled. This marks a first for Indian states, following orders from the Centre. The swift action was initiated after a high-level meeting with Home Department officials and security agencies.
Director General of Police Prashant Kumar confirmed the expulsion of all Pakistani citizens. The remaining individual is scheduled for deportation by April 30. Steps have also commenced to identify Rohingya and Bangladeshi nationals in Uttar Pradesh.
