Donald Trump has hinted at a potential peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, possibly occurring next week. During a press conference, Trump stated, "I hear of news about them, maybe getting close to making a deal. We will see."

Trump expressed reservations about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, stating, "I am not a fan," and "I am not a fan of the way he's handled it." He also acknowledged the numerical strength of the Russian army compared to the Ukrainian forces.

Trump reiterated his claim that the conflict would not have occurred under his presidency. He expressed his desire to quickly end the war and facilitate negotiations between the United States and Russia.

Trump mentioned that the U.S. government is scheduled to sign a strategic partnership agreement on energy issues with Ukraine next week. He also noted that he plans to meet with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at the White House, anticipating discussions on trade matters.

While details remain scarce, Trump suggested that these developments could pave the way for an eventual agreement. Zelensky previously mentioned ongoing preparations for a deal on commodity supplies with the United States.
