Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

The Indian Navy and the European Union Naval Force (Atalanta) are planning a joint exercise in the Indian Ocean by the end of May. The exercise aims to enhance counter-piracy efforts and improve interoperability between the two naval forces. This reflects growing maritime security cooperation. The proposal was made during Vice Admiral Ignacio Villanueva Serrano's visit to India. The exercise will focus on counter-piracy operations, tactical maneuvers, and communications. Two EU warships are expected to participate. This joint effort underscores the shared interest in maintaining a secure and open Indian Ocean. It will build confidence and improve coordination between the Indian Navy and Atalanta. The exercise is expected to strengthen maritime security in the region.
