Trump's Stance on Iran Conflict: Military Intervention Considered Amid Escalating Tensions

Edited by: Татьяна Гуринович

As the conflict between Israel and Iran continues, President Donald Trump is reportedly considering direct intervention. The Pentagon maintains a defensive posture, assisting Israeli missile interceptions. However, there are indications of potential military action against Iran. Trump initially signaled a willingness to continue nuclear negotiations with Iran. He even called on Tehran residents to evacuate. He later met with top national security officials at the White House Situation Room. On Tuesday, Trump claimed the U.S. has "complete and total control of the skies over Iran." He also stated that the U.S. has patience wearing thin. He called for Iran's "UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!" U.S. Air Force tankers were deployed to Europe over the weekend. The USS Nimitz aircraft carrier was diverted to the Middle East. The U.S. Central Command has approximately 40,000 personnel in the region. The State Department announced a task force for U.S. citizens seeking to leave the region. Spokesperson Tammy Bruce stated that the task force is designed to help Americans in the region. Bruce declined to comment on Trump's statements or whether the U.S. is open to diplomacy. No new diplomatic overtures have been announced by the U.S. or Iran. Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held separate conversations with Iranian and U.S. officials. Vice President JD Vance defended Trump's decision-making process on X, formerly Twitter.
