Trump Family's Crypto Deal with Pakistan's Army Chief Sparks India Security Concerns After Pahalgam Attack

Former U.S. President Donald Trump's global business deals are raising concerns, particularly in India, especially after the April 22, 2025, terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, where 26 people were killed. These concerns stem from a secret cryptocurrency deal between Pakistan and World Liberty Financial (WLF), a company linked to Trump's aide, Betri Vitkov.

The Trump family allegedly holds a 60% stake in WLF. The crypto deal, aimed at boosting blockchain adoption in Pakistan, was signed in Islamabad with the Pakistan Crypto Council, reportedly endorsed by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir. The timing of this endorsement, days before the Pahalgam attack, has sparked alarm.

Concerns are growing about potential links between the deal and extremist financing, particularly given Pakistan's ties to anti-India elements. The involvement of General Asim Munir in facilitating the deal has also raised eyebrows. Adding to the controversy, a cryptic Instagram post from former FBI Director James Comey, interpreted by some as a threat against Trump, has further fueled the debate.
