Edited by: S Света

On July 1, 2025, the U.S. Senate approved President Donald Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" with a 51-50 vote. Vice President J.D. Vance broke the tie. Republican Senators Thom Tillis, Susan Collins, and Rand Paul voted against the bill.

The bill includes $4.5 trillion in tax cuts and $1.2 trillion in cuts to Medicaid and food stamps. It also allocates $350 billion for border and national security. The Congressional Budget Office estimates the bill will add $3.3 trillion to the federal debt over the next decade.

President Trump aims to sign the bill into law by July 4. The bill has faced opposition, including criticism from Elon Musk. As of July 2, 2025, the bill is scheduled for a vote in the House of Representatives.
