Trump Teases Gaza Announcement Amidst Ceasefire Standoff and Renewed Violence

U.S. President Donald Trump hinted at an upcoming announcement regarding Gaza, stating, "A lot is being talked about Gaza right now, you will probably learn more within the next 24 hours."

However, a source close to the Gaza ceasefire negotiations reports no new proposal is currently on the table. Mediators are actively engaged, but Hamas continues to demand a full ceasefire to end the war, a condition Israel rejects.

Following the end of a ceasefire on January 19th, the Israeli army resumed attacks on March 18th. Since then, 2,545 Palestinians have been killed, and 6,856 have been injured. Overall, since October 7, 2023, Israeli attacks on Gaza have resulted in 52,653 Palestinian deaths and 118,897 injuries.

Israel, citing rejected ceasefire proposals, announced it would increase military force against Hamas. Hamas accuses Israel of violating the ceasefire and resuming "genocide against the Palestinian people" by failing to uphold its responsibilities to mediating countries.
