Trump Administration Offers $1000 to Illegal Immigrants for Self-Deportation

The Trump administration announced it will offer $1,000 to immigrants in the United States illegally who voluntarily return to their home countries. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will also provide travel assistance. This initiative aims to encourage self-deportation through the CBP Home app. Secretary Kristi Noem stated that self-deportation is the safest and most cost-effective way for illegal immigrants to avoid arrest. DHS has already funded a migrant's return to Honduras from Chicago. More tickets have been booked for the coming weeks. The Trump administration is transforming the CBP One app, previously used to schedule appointments for migrants entering the country, into CBP Home. This new tool will assist migrants in their return home. Homeland Security reports that thousands of migrants have already used the app for self-deportation.
