George E. Bogden, the executive director of the Office of Trade Relations at Customs and Border Protection, was fired.
The reason for the dismissal was his connection to Miles Taylor, the author of the anonymous 2018 op-ed in The New York Times. Taylor, then Trump's chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security, revealed internal efforts to thwart the president's agenda.
Taylor publicly acknowledged his authorship in 2020 after leaving his position.
