US and Russia Agree to Limited Ceasefire in Ukraine

Following a phone conversation, US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to an immediate ceasefire targeting energy infrastructure in Ukraine. The Kremlin and White House independently confirmed the discussion. Trump stated the agreement aims for a complete ceasefire and an end to the conflict. Technical talks regarding a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea are planned in the Middle East. Russia has agreed to halt attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure for 30 days. Putin expressed readiness to collaborate with the US for a comprehensive resolution, contingent on ending foreign military aid and intelligence to Ukraine. Both leaders concurred that Iran should not possess the means to destroy Israel. They also discussed improved US-Russia relations, economic agreements, and geopolitical stability. A prisoner exchange of 175 war prisoners is scheduled. Ukraine has accepted a 30-day ceasefire proposal under US pressure, while Putin has expressed reservations and conditions, including halting Ukraine's "rearmament."
