Secretary of State Marco Rubio informed Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha that President Donald Trump aims to swiftly end the Russia-Ukraine war, emphasizing the need for all parties to pursue a sustainable peace. This followed Rubio's discussion on the war with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot. Trump has paused military aid and intelligence sharing to Ukraine, seeking a ceasefire deal after a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He is also considering sanctions and tariffs on Russia until a peace agreement is reached. Separately, Trump hinted at potential action against Iran regarding its nuclear program. While suggesting a possible confrontation, Trump mentioned sending a letter to Iranian Leader Khamenei urging negotiations. Khamenei dismissed negotiations as a tool for foreign domination, stating talks are only possible if the US lifts sanctions. Trump told reporters that something is going to happen very soon with Iran.
