President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia and General Secretary To Lam of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) met in Jakarta to reinforce ASEAN partnership and solidarity. During the meeting, both leaders agreed to support the ASEAN Vision 2045, expected to be declared at the ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur in May. They emphasized that peace and stability are crucial for regional prosperity and pledged to enhance cooperation with other ASEAN members. To Lam affirmed mutual support within regional forums like ASEAN, aiming for a stronger ASEAN that upholds its principles for regional security. The state visit, from March 9-11, 2025, also commemorated the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Vietnam. The meeting included tête-à-tête discussions followed by bilateral talks involving Indonesian ministers such as Airlangga Hartarto, Zulkifli Hasan, and Sri Mulyani Indrawati.
