Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for discussions regarding a potential peace settlement for Ukraine. During his one-day visit, Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. A Ukrainian negotiating team, including Zelenskyy's chief of staff Andriy Yermak, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, and Defense Minister Rustem Umjerow, will remain in Saudi Arabia for talks with a U.S. delegation led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Zelenskyy will not participate in the U.S.-Ukraine talks. Kyiv hopes for progress toward peace and continued U.S. support. Saudi Arabia is also being considered as a venue for a potential summit between former U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The foreign ministers of both countries previously met in Saudi Arabia to discuss a possible end to the conflict in Ukraine.
