Turkey has completed the first phase of natural gas production in the Black Sea. This phase supplies 9.5 million cubic meters of gas daily. This is enough for 4 million households, according to President Erdogan.
The work at the Göktepe-3 well was completed on May 16. The economic value of the natural gas discovery is estimated at $30 billion. The Sakarya Project will use a floating production platform to develop the field.
Turkey aims to double gas production by 2026 and quadruple it by 2028. The goal is to achieve full energy independence. Drilling operations are continuing with determination.
