U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that a deal has been reached to stabilize the U.S.-China trade relationship. Negotiators from Washington and Beijing finalized a framework addressing tariff rates.
The agreement, reached in London after two days of talks, also includes the removal of Chinese export restrictions on rare earth minerals and allows Chinese students access to U.S. universities. Details were shared by Trump on his social media platform.
This agreement builds on a framework established last month in Geneva, aiming to ease retaliatory tariffs. The talks were described as putting "meat on the bones" of the initial agreement by U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
