Edited by: S Света

Tesla has unveiled the Model 3+, a new variant of its electric sedan in China, featuring a single-motor rear-wheel-drive configuration and an upgraded battery system. This model is expected to offer a driving range of approximately 800 kilometers, surpassing the current Model 3 Long Range AWD's 753 km range under the Chinese Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC). The Model 3+ is anticipated to be priced at around 270,000 yuan, positioning it between the existing base Model 3 RWD and the Long Range AWD variants. The launch is scheduled for early September 2025, marking Tesla's strategic response to the competitive Chinese electric vehicle market.

In addition to the Model 3+, Tesla has filed for a new six-seat variant of the Model Y, known as the Model Y L. This extended version features a longer wheelbase and is equipped with dual electric motors, powered by ternary lithium-ion batteries supplied by LG Energy Solution. The Model Y L is expected to be priced at approximately 400,000 yuan, with deliveries slated to begin this fall.

These developments reflect Tesla's ongoing efforts to adapt its product lineup to meet the evolving preferences of Chinese consumers, emphasizing longer driving ranges and enhanced performance in response to the competitive landscape of the electric vehicle market in China.
