On June 20, 2025, Meta, in collaboration with Oakley, unveiled the Oakley Meta HSTN, a new generation of AI-powered smart glasses. This product builds upon the success of the Ray-Ban Meta glasses and expands Meta's presence in wearable technology.
The Oakley Meta HSTN features a high-resolution, hands-free camera and open-ear speakers, enabling seamless photo and video capture, as well as audio playback. The glasses are water-resistant, suitable for various activities.
Integrated Meta AI features provide real-time translation, navigation, and other intelligent applications directly through the glasses. The limited special edition of the Oakley Meta HSTN is available for pre-order from July 11, 2025, for $499. Additional models will be available throughout the summer, starting at $399. The product line will initially launch in North America, Australia, and several European countries, with expansions planned for Mexico, India, and the United Arab Emirates by the end of the year.
The Oakley Meta HSTN will be showcased at major sporting events this month, including Fanatics Fest and UFC International Fight Week. Competitor Snap announced earlier this month that it would launch its own smart glasses, called Specs, for consumers next year. Companies like Google are also investing heavily in similar developments.
With the introduction of the Oakley Meta HSTN, Meta takes another step in the development of AI-powered wearable technologies, strengthening its partnership with EssilorLuxottica, the parent company of Oakley and Ray-Ban. The continuous expansion of the product portfolio and the integration of advanced AI features underscore Meta's commitment to wearable technology.
