Brazil Announces Railway Project to Boost Trade in Southeast Region

The Brazilian government announced plans for the Southeast Railway Arc project, also known as the EF-118 project, set to be published in the second half of 2025.

This new 575-kilometer railway will connect ports in Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro, aiming to optimize logistics and boost agribusiness in the Southeast region.

The auction for the concession is scheduled between late 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, with Vale committing to build an initial 80 km section.
