U.s. lifts sanctions on Syria, as announced during online summit

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan participated in an online meeting with leaders from the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Syria. The meeting included U.S. President Donald Trump, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa.

During the online meeting, President Erdogan stated that President Trump's decision to lift sanctions on Syria was of historical importance. Erdogan believes this decision will serve as an example for other countries that have also imposed sanctions.

Erdogan emphasized that Turkey will continue to support the administration in Damascus in the fight against terrorist groups.
